The Best of ASCO® Toronto 2026 conference, chaired by Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani and Dr. Kasia Jerzak, will offer medical oncologists and healthcare professionals an overview of the most important treatment breakthroughs shared at the 2026 ASCO® Annual Meeting. The presentations will cover a range of key disease sites. The event’s faculty includes some of Canada’s most prominent oncologists.

Event Co-Chairs
Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani
MD, FRCPC
Dr. Lalani is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and a Medical Oncologist at the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC). He is the Chair for the Genitourinary (GU) Cancers Disease Site Team at the JCC. His academic interests include clinical trial design and translational work for GU malignancies. He is a Scientist with the Escarpment Cancer Research Institute, and an Associate Member of the Centre for Discovery in Cancer Research at McMaster University. He is also co-host of the podcast “The View on GU”. Aly-Khan was awarded the Elizabeth Eisenhauer Early Drug Development Young Investigator Award from the Canadian Cancer Trials Group in 2022; and the Rising Star Award from the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists in 2023. He has been appointed to Canada’s Drug Agency pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review Expert Review Committee (pERC) since 2024.
Dr. Kasia Jerzak
MD, FRCPC
Dr. Jerzak completed medical school and internal medicine residency training at McMaster University. Then, she pursued medical oncology sub-specialty training at the University of Toronto (2013-2015) where she was the co-Chief Medical Resident and the recipient of the 2015 Don Sutherland Award of Excellence. Dr. Jerzak completed medical oncology fellowship training at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, and obtained an MSc degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. Among other awards and grants, she was the recipient of a prestigious CAMO fellowship award in 2015 and a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship- Master’s Program Award during her fellowship training. She was also a recipient of the prestigious Conquer Cancer of ASCO Career Development Award in 2019. Dr. Jerzak is a Medical Oncologist and Clinician Investigator at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Center and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto with a clinical focus on breast cancer. Her research activities focus on brain metastases, clinical trials and cancer biomarkers.
