Event Landscape

The Canadian Immuno-Oncology Conference 2024 is an in-person only conference held in eastern time. The meeting will cover a variety of important topics examining advances in immuno-oncology and will also explore topics that pertain to clinical practice, adverse event management and the pharmacoeconomics of novel therapies.

Meet the Best of The Canadian Immuno-Oncology Conference 2024 Co-Chairs

Dr. Parneet Cheema

Dr. Parneet Cheema
MD, MBiotech, FRCPC

Dr. Parneet Cheema is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and Medical Oncologist at the William Osler Health System with a focus in thoracic, and skin malignancies. Dr. Cheema completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Calgary, followed by Internal Medicine, and Medical Oncology training at the University of Toronto. Dr. Cheema also completed a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Toronto. She is the Head of Cancer Research at William Osler Health System and has been principle investigator and on global steering committees for clinical trials in the areas of melanoma and NSCLC using immunotherapies and targeted therapy. She began the Osler Immunotherapy for Cancer Program that focuses on management of immune related adverse events and patient education.

Dr. Marcus Butler

Dr. Marcus Butler
MD

Marcus Butler is a physician investigator with an interest in the translational development of immune-based therapies for cancer patients. He completed his Hematology/Oncology training at Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare, Harvard Medical School, Boston. After serving on the Dana-Farber staff, he joined the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in 2012. He is a member of the medical oncology staff at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, and Assistant Professor in Medicine and Immunology at the University of Toronto. He is the Melanoma/Skin Medical Oncology Site Lead at the Princess Margaret and is the Clinical Director for the Immune Profiling Team at the Princess Margaret. He is also the Medical Oncology Chair for the Melanoma Site for the Canadian Cancer Trials Group. His work focuses on the development of immunotherapy trials, which include studies, alone and in combination, of immune checkpoint blocking antibodies, immunomodulators, and adoptive cell transfer.

By registering to attend Canadian Immuno-Oncology Conference 2024, you will be automatically entered to win an Apple Watch. To be eligible, you must be a healthcare professional (sponsors and industry professionals excluded), and in attendance at Canadian Immuno-Oncology Conference 2024.

One (1) winner will be drawn at random at 3:15 PM EST on October 4, 2024 at Canadian Immuno-Oncology Conference 2024. Winner must be in attendance to claim their prize. The winner will be given 5 minutes to claim their prize at the event before another winner is chosen.

Prize shall be accepted as awarded and is not transferable. The Apple Watch is valued at approximately $589 CAD. Prize has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash. OncologyEducation reserves the right to substitute the Apple Watch with another prize or portion thereof of equal or greater value. Winners must be a natural person and cannot be a business, organization, or a non-living entity.
