The Best of ASTRO® Conference is an officially licensed Best of ASTRO® (American Society for Radiation Oncology) Event.
The Best of ASTRO® content represents the top abstracts from the ASTRO Annual Meeting. The abstracts selected for the Best of ASTRO® are hand-picked by a selection committee from hundreds of abstracts submitted to the Annual Meeting.

About the Faculty
Dr. Paris Ann Ingledew
Dr. Paris-Ann Ingledew is a Clinical Professor in the UBC Department of Surgery and the Department Head of Radiation Oncology at the Vancouver Cancer Centre. She is the Undergraduate Division Director for Radiation Oncology & Developmental Radiotherapeutics at UBC.
She completed her MD (2002) and residency at the University of British Columbia (2007). She was a UBC Center for Health Education Scholarship (CHES) Fellow and she completed her Masters in Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2013. She has contributed to setting national standards for training medical students in oncology and is the lead for a website used nationally and internationally in medical schools www.learnoncology.ca. With respect to resident education, she is the Vice-Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Radiation Oncology Specialty Committee and is actively involved in the Competency by Design for radiation oncology. She has an interest in advancing medical education scholarship in radiation oncology and is the Education Section Editor for the Red Journal. Her current research interests are focused on the physician competencies related to patient education and projects related to oncology education in the undergraduate medical setting.
Dr. Joanne Alfieri
Dr. Joanne Alfieri, MMEd, MDCM, FRCPC is an Associate Professor & Associate Chair for Education in the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology at McGill University. Dr. Alfieri practices as a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of gynaecological and gastrointestinal malignancies at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
She has a keen interest in medical education and after completing her medical training, she earned her Masters in Medical Education at the University of Dundee, Scotland. She is the Fellowship Training Director for Radiation Oncology and Assistant dean, PGME Curricula at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University. As Associate Chair (Education) for the Department of Oncology, she oversees undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate training programs in medical, surgical and radiation oncology.
Her medical education interests include teaching innovation through the use of e-learning and virtual patients, and the motivation driving feedback-seeking behaviours of post-graduate trainees in the competency-based medical education era.
