OncologyEducation’s Best of ASCO® Conference is a program licensed by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and will be held virtually on June 26th 2020. Chaired by Dr. Sharlene Gill and Dr. Jose Monzon, the focus of this event will be to provide medical oncologists and other healthcare practitioners with a summary of the most significant treatment advances presented at the ASCO 2020 Annual Meeting, with presentations focused on several key disease sites. Instructions on how to join the virtual meeting will be posted soon.
The Best of ASCO Vancouver faculty will draw from some of Canada’s most influential oncologists.

Dr. Sharlene Gill is a medical oncologist at the BC Cancer Agency - Vancouver specializing in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies, and a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Gill subsequently completed a fellowship in Gl Oncology at the Mayo Clinic and a Master's of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Her areas of expertise are colorectal, pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively engaged in education and research, with over 80 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters to her credit. She is currently an MBA Candidate at Kenan-Flagler Business School (University of North Carolina, Class of 2017).
Dr. Jose Monzon, completed his postgraduate medical oncology residency training at the University of British Columbia and fellowship training at the Canadian Cancer Trials Group. He has also completed a PhD focusing on melanoma genetics at the University of Toronto. His current research interests include pharmacogenomics and clinical trials in cutaneous and gastrointestinal malignancies.
